World Mental Health Day 2022
These were the activities we did in 2022 for World Mental Health Day
THE ÁGUILAS MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION CELEBRATES WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY
Like every year, World Mental Health Day is celebrated on October 10. Under the motto of this 2022 “Like mental health”, the Águilas Mental Health Association has carried out its protocol events in which this year the children and young people of our town have had a special role. According to the World Health Organization, one in seven young people between the ages of 10 and 19 has a mental health problem, and the pandemic has greatly aggravated this situation, causing a serious increase in mental disorders in minors. Thus, child and adolescent mental health is one of the main pending issues of Spanish healthcare.
The event began shortly before 12:00 noon with the reception of the participants next to the Plaza de España, among whom were workers and users of the association, social-health professionals, students and teachers from different educational centers, social-health associations of the town and the mayor of Águilas, Doña Mari Carmen Moreno, along with representatives of the different political groups of the City Council. In front of the Town Hall façade, the president of the association, Don Felipe Soler Plantinga, welcomed all the participants. Next, the Manifesto was read by students from different educational centers and users of the association, as well as the Proclamation was read by the attending authorities. The mayor then spoke a few words and the event concluded with the placing of the banner on the balcony of the City Hall and the family photo with all those attending.
From the Águilas Mental Health Association, we sincerely appreciate the collaboration of all participants.
